Chip recently retired as a Police Officer and EMT after serving 25 years with the Canton Massachusetts Police Department. He spent 18 years working in the Canton Public Schools as the School Resource Officer (SRO) and Juvenile Detective in the Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Family Services Unit. He is currently the President of the Massachusetts Juvenile Police Officers Association (MJPOA), responsible for hosting the yearly MJPOA/NASRO New England School Safety Conference. He is a member of the National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO), holding Basic SRO, Advanced SRO, and practitioner’s certifications. He was a Special Advisor and Contributor for the Massachusetts Task Force Report on School Safety and Security, in partnership with the Massachusetts Department of Education and Executive Office of Public Safety.
Chip was a member of and local representative for Internet Crimes against Children (I.C.A.C.) and a former member of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Attorney General’s Human Trafficking Task Force. He is certified as an instructor for ALiCE; Preparing School Staff, Students, and Citizens for the Active Shooter/Violent Intruder. Chip has been the guest speaker at several of the annual MJPOA/NASRO New England School Safety Conferences in Massachusetts and at the NASRO School Safety Conferences, nationally. He has also presented to the Massachusetts Chiefs of Police and spoken at The United States Conference of Mayors in Washington D.C. regarding school safety. He holds a bachelor’s of science degree in criminal justice from Western New England University.
